The annuities of the patent of inventions which have been filed under national phase of Cooperation Treaty (PCT) shall be calculated starting from the  international filing date of the application, which date shall be considered to be the actual filing date in each the designated states upon the acceptance of the application pursuant to article 11/3 of Treaty and according to Article 11 of the Egyptian ACT 82/2002 and its implementing Regulations which have been issued by Prime Minister’s Decision No. 1366/2003.

The annual fees shall be payable, gradually increasing effective the beginning of the second year until the end of the patent protection period. As the international filing date is the actual filing of the application, the annual fees shall be payable starting from the international filing date.

The Applicants or their agents will be granted a grace period of 6 months for the actual payment as from the date of this CIRCULAR, in order to adapt his status. The payment of the annual fees will be as follows:
1- The application which is not claiming convention priority, the applicant will pay two years and half as annual fees.
2- The application which is claiming convention priority, the applicant will pay one year and half as annual fees.
