Consistent with the direction outlined in its strategic plan, CIPO is committed to improving services to clients. To that end, CIPO is proposing regulatory amendments that would enable clients to file correspondence and obtain filing dates on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays while still maintaining the flexibility of time extensions to comply with deadlines.

Stakeholders will have an opportunity to comment on the consultation paper from June 1, 2009 to September 14, 2009.
